Kissable DIY Choco-Cherry Lip balm

ChococherrylipbalmIt’s winter in my part of the world right now and I need lip balm.

For a few years, I’ve been making lip balm instead of using the yucky kind found in retail stores. I figure, if I can’t understand what the name of the ingredient actually is it’s not going on my lips.

The first type of lip balm I created was a peppermint lip balm and it was great. But I wanted to branch out and create something a little more exotic and yummy, so I came up with Choco-Cherry Lip Balm.

Oh la la! It should be a dessert. Seriously.

Here’s what you need :

Kissable DIY Choco-Cherry Lip Balm

1 Tbs Organic Coconut Oil

1 Tsp Grated Beeswax

3 or 4 Chocolate Chips

1 or 2 Sprinkles of Cherry Kool-aid

Really all of these ingredients are edible, so you could eat it. But wait it’s for your lips remember.

Make it:

1. Use a double boiler (saucepan & glass measuring cup) to prepare the lip balm. In your measuring cup, first melt coconut oil (keeps the beeswax from sticking to the glass measuring cup).

2. Add the grated beeswax and stir until melted and well combined with the coconut oil.

3. Cool mixture until it begins to solidify slightly, add chocolate chips to the measuring cup and stir. Stir in the Cherry Kool-aid until combined.

4. Poor into Lip Balm tubes. Let cool until no longer liquid. Place lids on the tubes. Place in a plastic resealable bag and pop into your fridge to solidify completely. Now you can eat I mean try it. ūüôā

Please remember this is a homemade beauty product so it has a shorter shelf life. Keep in your fridge for best results and use up within approximately one month.

P.S.

Please remember to be safe when making this lip balm. Children must be supervised as heating oil and wax can be dangerous.

Enjoy
